Extraction of Vanadium from the Spent Residuum Hydroprocessing Catalysts by Fenton-like Reaction Followed with Alkaline Leaching

Spent residuum hydroprocessing (RHDP) catalysts are hazardous waste bearing high-content vanadium and large amounts of oily pollutants. In this paper, a process featuring Fenton-like reaction alkaline leaching was proposed to recover from spent RHDP catalysts. the first step, using peroxide conducted degrade pollutants make surface catalyst becomes hydrophilic. second vanadium-containing deposit on leached with 0.5 M Na2S2O8 at 70 °C for transforming sulfide oxide in 5 h. last employed dissolve oxidizing residue 80 1 It found that accumulated efficiency can reach up 90.92%, only small part aluminum sulfur dissolved. These results indicated combined extract selectively under relatively mild condition.
